Saint's Bar & Kitchen

Saint's Bar & Kitchen is a new Bar & Kitchen located on The Red Carpet, a new development in The Strand, Kota Damansara. This Bar & Kitchen specialize in a wide selection of beers, wines, spirits and classic cocktails! I was there for a restaurant review with my colleague. It's our pleasure to meet the owner, Mr. Nicky Crag. Nicky share with us his passion of starting this restaurant after his 10 years experience in hospitality industry. It was an interesting story indeed!

Here you go..... some pictures of the restaurant for sharing:

You may have your meal either indoor or outdoor & there's a comfy sofa seat available as well.

And here's the foods & drinks recommended by Nicky.

Cocktail

From the Left: A Taste of Speyside - Macallan 10yr old, Whisky Honey, Apple Juince, Mint Leaves, Dot Angostura Bitters.
From the Right: Passion Fruit Caipirinha - Cachaca, Gomme, Lime, Passion Fruit

Both cocktails mixed by Nicky personally. They tasted just wonderful!

Chicken Satay

Grilled Chicken Satay served with peanut sauce. The sauce was good & i like the tender grilled meat, it tasted good!

Saint's Mix Platter

Saint's Mix Platter comes with Bruschetta of Smoked Salmon with Cream Cheese & Mushroom Fricassee, Fresh Prawn Roll with passion fruit hollandaise & the famous scottish Haggis Ball with Mustard Mayo Sauce. Hmm, have you try Haggis before? It was a truly traditional Scottish dish cooked in a casing of sheep's intestine. Prior coming to this restaurant, Edina had share with me a little bit about Haggis which she had tried at another place which tasted awful. Well, after I tasted it from Saint's Bar & Kitchen, I personally think that it wasn't that bad! Haha, trust me, maybe you should try it as well! :D

Hot Air Balloon Gold Coast

We have been asking around about this Hot Air Ballooning ride prior to this trip and we decided to booked it! Yeah, I've always wanted to do this, and we finally did! We booked thru hotair.com.au/goldcoast, Hot Air Balloon Ride & O'Reilly's Vineyard Champagne Breakfast at AUS $250 per person. So for two of us, it cost around RM 1600. Yes, price is a bit expensive though, but trust me, you would never regret for this wonderful experience!

Here's the itinerary for the Hot Air Balloon Ride:

4:30am - comfortable coach transfers, door to door. ( All Surfers & Broadbeach plus other locations). We was told by the guide that balloon flight is depends on weather condition. If the wind is too strong then they might cancel the flight and the driver shared with us that the day before they got to cancel the flight due to the bad weather. I was stunned when i heard this, and pray hard that ours will be smooth, thank god, the weather was great!

5:45am - Hot Air Balloons launch spectacle. At this moment, you will be able to enjoy the amazing views.

The views over the hinterland were just awesome!

and we managed to spot some kangaroos and they were watching us too. haha

the landing was very smooth, thumbs up for the pilot

7:45am - Fun & packup balloon games

8:00am - O'Reilly's Grand Homestead & Vineyard & Wine Tasting

8:45am - 10:30am - Champagne & full hot breakfast

Steven & I had a fabulous experience. Despite waking up early in the morning, but it's definately worth it! Strongly recommended activities in Gold Coast to start your day.

What we do?

We booked our Gold Coast Hot Air Balloon Ride thru hotair.com.au. After the Hot Air Balloon Ride, we went back to our hotel for a rest, and then we visited Dreamworld. It was a bit late when we arrived there, we only managed to visit Dreamworld's Australian Wildlife.

Here's some pictures for sharing:

Dreamworld

Dreamworld is Australia's favourite theme park, from the tallest and fastest thrill rides, to live interactive shows and unique animal attractions, there's something for everyone at Dreamworld!

At Dreamworld, you will be able to cuddle a koala, it cost about AUS $30 for one 8R size photos & two 3R photos. Besides that, you will also be able to feed the kangaroos.

Besides Dreamworld, we also visited the Warner Bros. Movie World. We spend about half day in Movie World. It is a whole world of entertainment. From heart-thumping thrill rides like Lethal Weapon to the colourful but gentle rides in Looney Tunes Village to the fun filled shows...Warner Bros.

Here's some pictures for sharing:

Sydney Fish Market

Christie's Seafood Excellence

Sydney Fish Market (SFM) is located at Bank Street Pyrmont. It is the largest market of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and the world's second largest seafood market in terms of variety outside of Japan. A working fish market, SFM sources product both nationally and internationally and trades over 14,500 tonnes of seafood annually - with up to a hundred species traded every day.

The market hosts seafood retailers, a bottle shop, fruit and veg market, bakery, sushi bar, restaurants, gift shop and deli.

And we were there for late lunch, reached there around 3pm plus, and we noticed that most of the restaurant is already closed, we quickly picked our favourites!

We had our lunch at Christie's Seafood Excellence. They served a myriad of freshly cooked seafood dishes, besides that, you can also select the seafoods from live tank or display, and get them to grill, fry or steam, have it freshly cooked the way you like it!

Let's see what we order there:

Since they are about to close when we arrived, we just managed to order the cooked seafood over the counter.

Grilled Lobster

Fried Prawn

Grilled Scallop

Fresh Oyster

Everything were wholesome! Too bad we don't have enough time to try out more. The staffs already started to mop the floor & kept everything when we just started to eat, and a guy told me that they are going closing! haha...

they closed after we leave

If you love seafood, you probably must visit Sydney Fish Market, where you'll find Australia's finest fresh & live seafood. Most importantly, the price are acceptable! :D

p/s: the restaurant close at 4pm SHARP, so try to arrange for lunch there so that you can enjoy your seafood meal.

City Extra Circular Quay

After a short walk at Circulare Quay, we then decided to have dinner around that area. So, what's for dinner?

We noticed this restaurant, City Extra, the only 24 hour restaurant in the area, we then decided to have our dinner there.

Here's what we have there:

Their Winter Special AUS$ 20

Journo Burger or Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli or Fish'N Chips Snack

plus

your choice of a glass of
Brown Brothers House Wine

or

VB beer

or

A Mega Coffee or Large Soft Drink

Steven had Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli, little pasta parcels of spinach & ricotta with a tomato & basil sauce topped with parmesan cheese. Well, I had the Fish'N Chips, deep fried fish fillets with tartare sauce, lemon & fries served in a basket. And we both choose to have a glass of wine! :)

They have an outdoor and indoor seating area, we choose the table outside with Sydney Harbour view. It was so great to had our dinner outside as the weather was cooling! The food we ordered were good. As for the price, hmm, it is around RM 60++ per person which is a bit expensive though with the small portion serving.
