The Cave Couple Cafe & Restaurant @ SS2

This restaurant is closed

[entrance of the cafe]
The Cave Couple Cafe & Restaurant is located in SS2. Steven & I wanted to visit this cafe for quite some time & it so happened we decided to have dinner somewhere in SS2, and we went there for dinner.

The restaurant’s owner was fascinated by the Anatolian Houses, a cave hotel during his stay in Cappadocia, when he returned, he opened The Cave Couple Cafe & Restaurant. As you first stepped into the restaurant, you will have a kinda feeling like you have entered to a different world. The interior design of the restaurant looks unique with the man-made rocks and dim lights.
There is a sofa for diner to sit while waiting for a cave room & there are also tables for you to have drinks.
[straircase to the cave room]
[our cave room]
Each cave is attached with a satin curtain in order for diners to have private dining. Besides that, there is a service bell attached for diners to call the waiters for orders and bills.

The Cave Couple Cafe & Restaurant offers a wide range of Chinese, Western & Japanese cuisine, either ala carte or set meals (Western Dinner Set Menu & Japanese Bento Set Menu, both @ RM 46++ per set). I had a Western Dinner Set.

[Spicy Seafood Soup, Spicy Seafood Spaghetti & Coffee]

[Strawberry Cheesecake]
Western Dinner Set Menu:

(A Choice of Salad or Soup)
  • The Cave House Salad
  • Sushi Ceasar's Salad
  • Trip of Mushroom Soup
  • Spicy Seafood Soup
(A Choice of Entree)

  • Spaghetti Chicken Carbonara
  • Spricy Seafood Spaghetti
  • Spinach Salmon Fillet
  • Duo Chicken

Dessert of the day

Coffee or Tea
The Spicy Seafood Soup tasted a bit weird, it doesn't taste like seafood soup at all, it taste more like spicy japanese miso soup. Their Spicy Seafood Spaghetti was pretty good. It is served with a combination of seafood, mussel, prawn, squid & fish with sambal. For those who likes spicy food, I would recommend this dish. Hot 'n' Spicy Pasta (spaghetti or fettucine). As for Strawberry Cheesecake, we both don't really like it. Sort of 'out of taste'.
[Percik Spring Chicken @ RM 29.90++]
Steven ordered Percik Spring Chicken, an oven baked marinated spring chicken with traditional sauce. The taste was not good as the chicken is not marinated well enough & the chicken meat was very dry.

Overall, we are not really satisfied with the foods there though. We will give a thumbs up for the ambience but not for the foods we ordered. They have more rooms to improve i would say. In fact, there is a slogan for The Cave Couple Cafe & Restaurant, "everyday is your valentine's day"! Perhaps, you may visit this cafe to experience a romantic dining in a cave room.

Their menu featuring a wide selection of foods such as local & western dishes, sandwiches and salads, desserts & etc. Steven & I went there for tea. Delicious is always in crowded, luckily we managed to get a seat without waiting for long.

We have tried Chocolate Brownie & Tiramisu before, and thought of try something new this time, and the waiter recommended this to us, Berrilicious Chocolate Pavlova.

[Berrilicious Chocolate Pavlova @ RM 12.90++]

The dessert is crispy on the outside but fluffy inside. But it is a bit too sweet for me, perhaps you should try this if you prefer something sweet.

[Seafood Pesto Sandwithces @ RM 24.90++]

Steven ordered Seafood Pesto Sandwithces. He don't really like it as the seafoods are served in cold.

[Cappuccino @ RM 9.90++]

[Peppermint Tea @ RM 7.90++]
