Happy Dong Zhi Festival! 冬至快乐

[Tang Yuan, my favourite
]

Dong Zhi is the thanksgiving of the Chinese calendar. The festival began as a farmer's festival to celebrate year-end harvest. It coincides with the winter solstice and it is a time for the entire family to get together to celebrate the past good year. Some Chinese "traditionalists" even believe that everyone turns a year older after Dong Zhi.

Tang Yuan, sweet soup of glutinuous rice flour balls are cooked and eaten to signify unity and harmony within the family. Tang Yuan can be plain or filled with sesame, peanuts, red beans or almonds but i still prefered the plain one. The round shape symbolizes wholeness and unity, and the tradition is an important celebration of family unity and family prosperity.

Am here to wish everyone of you Happy Dong Zhi Festival!!!
